Strength & Mobility

Most of us would like to be fitter: we’d like to move more easily, to be more flexible; we’d like to improve our tennis or golf game, to go for a long walk without feeling stiff the next day; we’d like to pick up our children or grandchildren without worrying about straining our back; we’d like to enjoy being in our body.

The foundations of real fitness

There is more to fitness than big muscles or incredible stamina. Real fitness is much more subtle and its foundations are balance and coordination. Strength & Mobility combines moderate cardiovascular exercise with bodywork techniques designed to develop balance, coordination, strength and flexibility.

Individuality: one size doesn’t fit all

We begin with an individual assessment by a highly trained chiropractor and agree a personal exercise programme. Everyone works at their own appropriate pace: think of it as personal training in a group.

Motivation and confidence

Working on fitness alone can be hard work. It really helps to learn and practice with others. Strength & Mobility is taught and supervised; progress is monitored and recorded. The class is supportive, encouraging and enjoyable.

Awareness

In this work, awareness is as important as effort. Strength & Mobility teaches us to listen to our body.

For you?

Strength & Mobility is suitable for a wide range of people and needs. It can support recovery from back pain, neck pain and other strain-related conditions. It can be used for recovery from minor sports injuries and to improve sports performance. It can be used to improve mobility and the ease with which we do everyday tasks.
